Meet the Owner – The Story Behind Exotic Eggrollz

From a teen flipping burgers at Burgerville to becoming a creative food entrepreneur, Quandrae Gentle has always had a passion for flavor and innovation. His journey in the food industry began in high school, where his time at Burgerville sparked a love for cooking — a love that quickly became one of his strongest love languages.

From 2018-2023, Quandrae co-owned a thriving nail salon, Boss Nailz, but when the 2020 shutdown hit, like many entrepreneurs, he found himself facing tough challenges. With bills piling up and a business on pause, he had to think fast. That’s when inspiration struck — a family favorite: at the time his spouse’s homemade Vietnamese eggrolls.

However, Quandrae wanted to put his own twist on tradition. Not everyone enjoyed the look or taste of black mushrooms found in the classic recipe, so he decided to do something bold — wrap people’s favorite foods inside an eggroll. From mac and cheese to Philly cheesesteak and beyond, his creative spin turned into something truly exotic.

And just like that, Exotic Eggrollz was born — a fusion of comfort, creativity, and culture rolled into one crispy bite. For six months, Quandrae ran the business ghost kitchen–style, building a loyal following before returning to focus on his salon once it reopened.

In May 2025, life came full circle. Through the City of Tigard Launch Pod Program, Quandrae had the opportunity to revive his dream — this time, bigger and better than ever. Now, you can find him serving up his signature Exotic Eggrollz and more at the Universal Plaza, where every roll tells a story of passion, perseverance, and purpose.
